The Ka Long Transportation JSC, announced on November 16th plans to introduce a new high quality, speed-boat service running from Halong and Van Don to Co To island.
The new routes will meet the increased demand from tourists as well as actively contributing to socio-economic development, ensuring security defense in the nation’s northeast island.
It’s 200 km from Hanoi to Van Don Dist and it takes 4.5 hours to get there. Cai Rong port is 2km away from Van Don Post office. From Cai Rong Port – you will take tuk tuk to Quan Lan island and other beaches such as Minh Chau… around Quan Lan island.
Normal boat: at 7:00 and 13:00 everyday it takes 120 minutes to Minh Chau port, from Minh Chau port you can take a TUK TUK just 5 minutes ( 2km ).
Speed boat: at 7:30 and 13:30 everyday it takes 40 minutes to Minh Chau port, from Minh Chau port you can take a TUK TUK just 5 minutes ( 2km ).
Alternative: You can get to Quan Lan by driving to Halong, taking the ferry to Hong Gai, going to a different port and taking a local boat to Quan Lan. It takes 3.5 hours and currently leaves around 1PM every day.
As planned, on December 25th, the first ever 132-seat, luxury speed-boat bound for Van Don – Co To island will be launched. The second boat is expected to be ready for service next April 2015.
Total capital for the first phase of the project is around VND20 billion.
On this occasion, the company also opened the Van Don – Hanoi bus route, running from 18h00pm daily.
